Week 6 ~ 09/03/20 – 15/03/20

After a busy previous week I was excited about the progress that we had made and eager to continue pushing and get more done. Nick got back to me pretty quickly with the layout but it wasn’t divided into the pieces that it needed to be in order for the raising and lowering of the walls to work so I offered to divide it up for him and provide him with the individual pieces to work on top of. I think that there had been some miscommunication with what needed doing and it was easier if I was able to just provide him with the blank canvases to work from.

After working almost nonstop for the full day I was able to provide him with a complete PSD that included all of the individual pieces that the house needed to be separated into by the end of the evening.

Another upside of creating this is that we would be able to use it as a temporary house for the game so that Nick is in no rush to finish the colouring and can take his time with it!

I’m extremely pleased with the layout and can’t wait to get it into the game!

Tuesday:

I decided to have a little fun by making a character that we have discussed adding into the game who is playing hide and seek and should be static. I decided to draw her with a lit lamp shade over her head and was really happy with the way it turned out but had some mixed feedback about whether it was unrealistic to have it lit, so I tested a dimmed and unlit version as well:

I’ll be leaving it up to Adam to decide which one to implement.

Things have started to slow down again now and it wasn’t until Thursday that the group started to become productive again. We had our usual conference call and discussed issues with the fonts being fuzzy and the wrong resolution and how to fix it. We also discussed using a custom font for the game and I did some searching and shared some options with the other members which we then polled in the discord. These are the final fonts we were choosing between:

We decided on number 2 for the font and also discussed names again for the game and settled on “Tripping on Anxiety”.

At the end of the call, conversations turned to pondering the new Coronavirus and I voiced my concerns that I may have to start self-isolating early due to my health but that I would update again after speaking to the Uni.

I’m finding it a bit difficult to concentrate on work at the moment because of my concerns about Coronavirus and how it will affect my partner’s job, our income, and my health. My thoughts also are with others in similar circumstances <3
