Dog Modelling

In this exercise, I followed a tutorial on modelling a dog from a 2d sketch. I used reference images of a Great Dane so that I could get the Muzzle shape and muscle structure correct. I also looked at 3d models of Great Danes so that I could see how others had laid out their topology. Some of the 3d models that I viewed had 3 sided shapes and most of them were generally too dense so I tried to keep this in mind and make adjustments so that mine would not have these issues. It’s unfortunate that in the sketch that we were given to model the ears of the dog are clipped, as I would have liked to have modelled the big floppy ears.

For the wireframe view I added an AI Arnold Wireframe material and coloured it to suit my webpage and then rendered different views.

The hardest part of creating this model was making sure that the topology was neat. This is something that I will try to continue to improve on in the future.
